Made within or inspired by the Outer Banks region

Crafted with care, skill, and originality

Examples: Jewelry, pottery, soaps, candles, textiles, surf art, photography, and coastal home décor.

✅ Outer Banks–Themed Merchandise

Products that reflect the OBX lifestyle, culture, or scenery.

Examples: Apparel or stickers with OBX landmarks, ocean-inspired artwork, coastal scents, or nautical designs.

✅ High-End Vintage & Home Décor

Unique, styled, and well-presented vintage or repurposed items that fit an elevated coastal aesthetic.

Examples: Mid-century furniture, boho coastal décor, glassware, or architectural salvage — not yard sale leftovers.

🚫 What’s Not Accepted

To keep the marketplace authentic and curated, we do not allow:

Mass-produced, drop-shipped, or imported wholesale goods

Retail arbitrage or resold online store items

Yard sale or secondhand clothing, toys, or household goods

Generic or bulk “filler” merchandise

Copyrighted or trademarked designs you don’t own

If your submission doesn’t meet our standards, it will be rejected and you’ll have the opportunity to revise and resubmit within the guidelines.

Every listing must include:

Full Product Title: Clear, descriptive, and searchable

Complete Description: Include materials, dimensions, inspiration, and story behind the piece

High-Quality Photos:

Natural light

Clean background

Multiple angles

No filters or cluttered staging

Category & Tags: Choose the most accurate match for your product

Price: Reflects fair market value — not clearance or thrift pricing

ShopLocalOBX.com operates as a peer-to-peer marketplace. Each seller is considered the merchant of record for all items they list and sell. As such, sellers are fully responsible for ensuring compliance with state and local tax laws.

By listing products on this site, you agree to:

1. Determine whether your products are subject to North Carolina sales tax

2. Include all required tax in your final listing price (Sales Tax is not added at checkout)

3. Collect and remit all applicable state and local sales taxes directly to the proper agencies

4. Maintain all appropriate tax records for your business

ShopLocalOBX.com does not provide tax advice, does not calculate or add tax to orders, and does not remit tax on behalf of sellers. You are responsible for staying informed on the current tax rates and compliance requirements for your business and product category.

Listings that do not include required tax in the displayed price will be rejected and must be resubmitted with updated pricing.
